CARLTON TRAIL COLLEGE
Carlton Trail College Awards Over $73,000 in Scholarships in 2024

December 12, 2024

Carlton Trail College hosted its annual student awards celebration on December 5, 2024 and distributed $73,400 in scholarships to 47 learners across nine skills-based programs. Through its financial aid and student awards program, Carlton Trail College continues its commitment to opening doors to post-secondary education and training for Saskatchewan learners.

"A Carlton Trail College education equips you for life," said Amy Yeager, Carlton Trail College President and CEO.  "Beyond the financial support that these awards provide, this program also demonstrates investment into Saskatchewan's future workforce by industry partners, donors and those committed to our region."

Scholarships and bursaries are funded through donations from individuals, businesses, agencies and organizations.  Donations raised by post-secondary institutions in the province are matched by the government-funded Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship (SIOS) initiative.

Student recipients are determined through a combination of entrance criteria, academic achievements, the students' involvement in school and the community, as well as financial need.

Carlton Trail College also expressed its appreciation to donors and award sponsors, including Murray and Audrey Brockman and family for their endowment contribution made in 2023 that will award scholarships to Carlton Trail College students in perpetuity, as well as the Walker Wood Foundation, whose multi-year pledged gift amount has provided increased funding to the College's learners.
