The Centre for Teaching and Learning is recognizing four outstanding educators as the winners of the 2024 GA/TA Awards.
The winners of the GA/TA award for Educational Leadership are Ailin Barzegar, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Samantha Monk, Department of Kinesiology.

The winners of the GA/TA award for Educational Practice are Chloe Brescia, School of Dramatic Art, and Ashley Watt, Department of Integrative Biology.
Monk said she considered winning the award a deeply rewarding milestone in her journey as both a student and educator.
"This award is special to me because it represents both my dedication to creating meaningful learning experiences, as well as the inspiration and lessons I've drawn from students and colleagues over the years," she said.
Barzegar acknowledged those who supported over the years. "This recognition not only highlights my efforts but also reflects the invaluable support and mentorship I have received from the Faculty of Engineering and the Centre for Teaching and Learning."
Each year the centre accepts nominations for the two awards recognizing contributions by graduate and teaching assistants to the University's learning environment. Find details on the nomination process on the CTL website. The deadline for this year's submissions is July 24.
