SASKATCHEWAN TEACHERS' FEDERATION
Saskatchewan Teachers Honoured With Prestigious Arbos Awards

May 2, 2025

The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation is proud to recognize three outstanding individuals through the 2025 Arbos awards. The Arbos awards honour the lasting impact of the recipient's contributions to public education and the teaching profession. This year's honourees, Lori Jeschke, Tony Linner and Jane Macleod, represent the highest ideals of education and are being celebrated with the Federation's most prestigious accolade.

"The recipients have each made an extraordinary mark on public education in Saskatchewan," says STF President Samantha Becotte. "It's a privilege to celebrate their achievements and the meaningful difference they've made in classrooms and their communities."

Lori Jeschke earned an education degree from the University of Saskatchewan and began her teaching career at Laird School before moving to Hepburn School. Jeschke has received the Arbos for Distinguished Support of Education and the Teaching Profession. This award honours individuals who are not members of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation and who have made significant contributions to education and to the teaching profession through their advocacy and support for teachers and for public education. This award is given at the discretion of the STF Executive.

Tony Linner began his teaching career in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, before moving to Saskatoon Public Schools and then the Kerrobert School Division. Linner has received the Arbos for Contributions to the Professional Organization, which honours individuals who have made contributions to the professional organization at the provincial, national and/or international level(s). This award is given at the discretion of the STF Executive.

Jane Macleod spent 14 years with Saskatoon Public Schools as a teacher, vice-principal and principal. Macleod has received the Arbos for Contributions to Education and the Teaching Profession. This award honours teachers who have made outstanding contributions to education and the teaching profession that are broad and significant in their scope and impact. The recipient of this award is selected from nominations submitted by local associations, professional growth networks, teachers, trustees, directors of education, teacher educators or officials in educational organizations. A selection committee of teachers forwards the name of one of the nominees to the STF Executive as the recommended recipient for this award.

Each Arbos includes honorary life membership in the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation and an Arbos statuette.
