Graduates at Nipissing University's School of Nursing continue to excel, with the newly released 2024 Nursing Registration Exams Report from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) once again highlighting Nipissing as a top-performing institution in the province. The report shows that 96% of Nipissing's nursing graduates passed their registration exams on their first attempt, a result that surpasses the provincial average and affirms the program's reputation for excellence.
"This achievement reflects the incredible dedication of our students and the supportive learning environment fostered by our expert faculty," said Dr. Ann-Barbara Graff, Provost and Vice-President Academic. "It speaks to our commitment to academic excellence, student success, and producing nursing professionals who are prepared to lead with compassion and confidence."
The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) remains a benchmark in assessing nursing competency. Nipissing's strong results in this exam are a testament to Nipissing's robust curriculum, hands-on learning opportunities, and supportive academic environment.
The university's consistently high pass rate also addresses the urgent demand for skilled nursing professionals in Ontario and beyond. As the healthcare sector continues to face growing challenges, Nipissing's contribution of skilled nurses remains vital.
"These results represent more than academic success; they reflect the real-world readiness of our graduates," said Dr. Karey McCullough, Interim Associate Dean of the School of Nursing. "We take pride in preparing students who are not only clinically proficient, but also empathetic, ethical, and committed to improving patient care."
Over the last 12 months, Nipissing nursing students have celebrated various other successes, including:
