Brock University researchers are making their mark, with about three dozen appearing on Stanford University's 2025 ranking of the top two per cent of international scientists with the most citations.
"Citations are one very important indicator of research uptake and influence," says Vice-President, Research Tim Kenyon. "The inclusion of so many Brock University researchers on this list vividly illustrates the global reach and impact of Brock's community of inquiry and discovery."
Citations, which appear in academic papers, are references made to earlier research. The number of times a researcher's work is referenced in other peer-reviewed work is an important indicator of their research impact and reputation.
Released in late summer, the 2025 update contains two tables: one listing a database of citations over the course of a career and another listing researchers for the most citations in 2024.
