A winning student science experiment from Mississippi Mills is officially headed to space. Grade 6 students Ellie McBride and Ollie St. Louis from R. Tait McKenzie Public School have been selected to send their project to the International Space Station through the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP), following a competitive review process involving dozens of student proposals.
Students from three Mississippi Mills-area schools R. Tait McKenzie, Naismith Memorial Public School and Pakenham Public School designed, tested and refined microgravity experiments, showcasing the learning journey that led to this out-of-this-world achievement.
The launch of all Mission 21 flight experiments is expected later in 2026.
