Mrs. Suzanne Salituri, Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon President, is proud to announce the nomination of Mr. Tom Michaud to the position of Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Michaud brings his educational training, administrative management and relevant teaching experience in this field to the position. He will assume his new role on January 6, 2025.
Tom Michaud has a rich and diversified school administrative career having held various leadership positions such as school principal, director of student services and superintendent while possessing teaching experience from kindergarten to grade 12. Mr. Michaud has over 30 years of expertise in education, including 18 years within the only French-language school board in Saskatchewan. In his diverse roles, Mr. Michaud worked in both rural and urban communities spread across a vast territory and led priority projects such as diversity and inclusion, reconciliation with Indigenous and Metis peoples, intensive supports to special needs students and mental health and well-being.
Proven administrator and collaborator with a great passion for education, Mr. Michaud privileges leadership based on the needs of students and building relationships with all school communities' stakeholders. Throughout his career, he distinguished himself by his strong team management skills, his forward-thinking and his approach centered on community involvement, among others.
Mr. Michaud is originally from the Greater Sudbury area, having attended former École Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Alban, École St-Antoine in Noëlville and École Notre-Dame in Hanmer. Proud Catholic and francophone, he is involved with the Catholic communities in his region as President of the diocesan pastoral committee for French-language services of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Prince Albert in Saskatchewan since 2017. He is also a Member of the Liturgical team of the Sacred Heart Parish in Prince Albert since 2007.
