LAMBTON KENT DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Robertson Elected as Chair, Shortt as Vice Chair for LKDSB Board of Trustees

November 22, 2024

Trustees for the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) elected Kelley Robertson as Chair and David Shortt as Vice-Chair during the Annual Organization Board Meeting held on November 19, 2024.

Robertson and Shortt were first elected as Trustees in 2022, and Robertson has been serving as Vice Chair since November of 2023. Roberston gave thanks to her fellow Trustees, including outgoing Chair Randy Campbell for the nomination.

"The Lambton Kent District School Board has a proud tradition of fostering inclusive, innovative and student-centred education," said Robertson. "We are shaping the future through the work we do for our students, staff and communities. As your new Chair, I am committed to building on this foundation to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential in a supportive and equitable learning environment."

Incoming Vice Chair, David Shortt, echoed Robertson's grateful sentiments, pledging to support his fellow trustees, the LKDSB administration, education workers and, most importantly - the students. "We are here for student success while they are within our board and as they navigate the future ahead of them and that is what I pledge to continuing moving towards," said Shortt.

"Congratulations to Chair Kelley Robertson and Vice-Chair David Shortt as they take on their new leadership roles with the Board of Trustees," said John Howitt, Director of Education. "The Board plays a vital role in governance, providing direction that helps guide the Administration's efforts. I am confident that, with the Trustees' support, the hard work of all LKDSB staff will make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of our students."
