The Université de l'Ontario français is delighted to welcome Professor Isabelle Dostaler as Vice-President, Academics and Research. Starting December 2, she will take over from Professor Paulin Mulatris, who will now devote himself to his teaching and research duties after three years in this position.
Professor Dostaler is a management specialist. She holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Management from HEC Montréal. She began her career as a professor of strategy at Université Laval, then at Concordia University, before moving on to university administration. She was Director of the Executive MBA Program and the International MBA in Aviation Program at Concordia University's John Molson School of Business, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and, until recently, Provost and Vice-President of Academics at the University of Regina.
As President of the UOF and Vice-Chancellor Normand Labrie explains, her pan-Canadian expertise will be an invaluable asset in meeting Professor Dostaler's challenge: "Her scientific expertise, coupled with her experience in university administration in three Canadian provinces, her communication skills and her strategic vision make her a prime candidate. She is a visionary," he adds. "She is aware of the impact of organizational culture and structure in achieving organizational growth objectives, which is a plus for the UOF."
The UOF would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Mulatris for his many hours of work over the past few years. Under his leadership, the University was able to offer its first courses and launch three new teaching programs, not to mention the UNESCO Chair in Francophone Immigration. His achievements set the stage for the arrival of Professor Dostaler, who will work to further academic excellence in French in Toronto.
