NAIT is pleased to announce Dr. Tamara Peyton as the dean of the School of Media and Information Technology, effective Feb. 11, 2025.
With over a decade of experience in faculty leadership and as a user experience (UX) researcher and designer, Dr. Peyton has a deep understanding of the intersection of technology, human behaviour, and design. Her work emphasizes the importance of creating systems that are not only functional but also human-centred and impactful for individuals and businesses.
Before returning to academia, Dr. Peyton worked with prominent organizations including IBM, Bell Canada, and Sanofi-aventis. In these roles, she focused on web systems management and UX analysis, further honing her digital design and leadership expertise.
She holds degrees in sociology and interdisciplinary computer science, integrating technology and human behaviour in her practice.
Dr. Peyton has a passion for design thinking and creating digital and physical products that resonate with users. She is committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where innovation and creativity flourish.
