Dr. Ibrahim Turay
Skiba was raised on a family farm south of Lethbridge and learned the value of hard work through 4-H. She recently graduated from the University of Lethbridge with degrees in management and science. She also served on the students' union and as board president of the student-led newspaper, The Meliorist. Skiba is passionate about archery, automotive work and photography, and has a love for language, which she developed during a student exchange year in Austria.
Skiba says she is proud to continue her family's connection to Lethbridge Polytechnic - her father is an alumnus and her grandmother is a former employee - and she looks forward to giving back and supporting students.

Jaron Scribner
"I am proud to welcome Coral, Jaron and Ibrahim to the board," says Michael Marcotte, chair of the Lethbridge Polytechnic Board of Governors. "These appointees bring unique perspectives and experiences that will prove invaluable to the polytechnic as we work to advance student education. I and the rest of the board look forward to their contributions and the fresh ideas they will bring to our discussions."
The Board of Governors is comprised of 16 members - the chair, nine public members, two academic employees, one non-academic employee, two student positions, and the polytechnic's president. Public board members are appointed by a Government of Alberta Order in Council by the lieutenant governor and typically serve a three-year term of office, with the opportunity to serve an additional three-year term. Internal representatives (the academic, non-academic and student members) are elected by their constituency groups and appointed directly by the Minister of Advanced Education for terms outlined in the Post-secondary Learning Act.
