Let's hear it for the St. Luke Catholic School Nepean students and staff in Barrhaven for their tremendous achievement in donating two truckloads of food and a cheque for $1669.90 to the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. It was all hands on deck as the food was delivered, and students beamed with pride as they helped unload it.
As part of their Lenten project, the students collected canned goods to donate and learned about the issue of hunger in our city, its impact, and why supporting the local community food bank is important.
To deepen the meaning behind the Lenten fundraiser, the students engaged in several activities, such as read-aloud, math calculations, and letter writing. These activities helped the students understand the impact they can have on our school and school community.
We would like to express our gratitude to Marathon Underground for their generous donation and to the St. Luke community for their collaboration, which contributed significantly to the success of the campaign!
