On Friday, Oct. 16, more than 3,000 students from 51 Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) elementary schools participated in the annual Primary Fun Run at Snow Valley Resort.
Cheered on by their classmates, educators, and families, students from Grades 1 to 3 stepped up to the start line of a one-kilometre cross country course. The goal of the event is to introduce primary students to school athletics and support student well-being, with a healthy dose of fun throughout the day!
The Primary Fun Run would not be possible without the dedication and efforts of SCDSB staff and student volunteers, who supported every step of the way, from event coordination and scheduling to running with participants, right through the finish line.
This initiative links directly to the SCDSB Strategic Priorities in the areas of Well-being and Community.
