McMaster University Library releases 2023-24 impact report

The third edition of the McMaster University Library Impact Report is now available. 


In this 2023-24 edition of the magazine, readers will gain an understanding of the impact the university library has made within the past year through captivating stories and compelling images. 

The report reflects the fiscal year from May 2023 to April 2024. 

"This past year, we have made progress on making space in our libraries, from adding more physical spaces to expanding voices through diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives," said Vivian Lewis, Associate Vice-President and University Librarian. "We hope the community will appreciate this latest update on some of the many projects led by our dedicated employees here at the university library." 

Among the many featured stories in this year's report are: 

  • A behind-the-scenes look at Lyons New Media Centre's new virtual reality room and podcast studio. 
  • A deep dive into what goes on at the Lloyd Reeds Map Collection at Mills Memorial Library. 
  • An overview of how Thode Makerspace is helping to teach new skills while eliminating waste. 
  • An introduction to new library leaders and colleagues. 
  • A feature on donor Bernard Linsky, who is a long-time supporter and visitor of the Bertrand Russell Archives. 
  • A glimpse into rare books and archives recently added to the library's collections.
