LETHBRIDGE SCHOOL DIVISION
Three division schools come together for Tri-High Food Drive

December 18, 2024

On Friday, three Lethbridge School Division high schools came together to spread a little holiday cheer to benefit the Lethbridge Food Bank.

The Tri-High Food Drive is in its fifth year of competition between Chinook, Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and Winston Churchill High School. For two weeks in December, the three high schools compete to see who can donate the most to the Lethbridge Food Bank.

Schools raise funds in both food and monetary donations while using incentives like free hot chocolate, candy bags, advisor points or grade level points.

Winston Churchill won the first year and then, Chinook went on a streak of winning three years in a row.

This year, the three high schools combined to bring in 1,870 pounds of food for a total of $8458.31 donation to the Lethbridge Food Bank. This brings the total donations over the past five years to over $50,000!

This year, Churchill won the challenge by donating $2.85/per student.

According to the Lethbridge Food Bank, the Tri-High Food Drive is one of the food bank's top five food drives of the year.

A big thank you to all of the people who supported this initiative through donations and dedication.
