On May 12, 2026, Secondary Chaplaincy Team Leaders and Program Leaders at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board gathered to identify needs, challenges, strengths and opportunities as part of collaborative planning for the 2026-27 school year. This further supports our commitment to reconciliation through education, fostering Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations (OCSGE) and Catholic Social Teaching.
Like many school boards across the province, we also navigate complexities that impact program delivery. And while acknowledging this reality, the focus of the day was on building on strengths, with student well-being, achievement, meaningful community engagement, and faith formation at the core.
As we work together to seamlessly integrate faith and academics in preparing students for the modern, diverse world we live in, this further highlights the unique role of Chaplaincy Team Leaders in our high schools and the importance of a collaborative approach for maximum benefit for all.
