Stirling School Alumna Gifts Original Artwork to Inspire Young Artists

June 11, 2026

Stirling School recently welcomed back alumna Katherine Tanner, who returned to share her love of art and give back to the program that helped shape her creative journey.

During her visit, Katherine generously gifted an original painting to the school's art department. She shared that her interest in art was first sparked by two of her former teachers, Ms. Linda Judd and Mrs. Valerie Duncan, and that she wanted to contribute something meaningful to the program that encouraged her as a student.

Stirling School alumna Katherine Tanner stands with the original painting she gifted to the school's art department during a recent visit with Grade 3 art students.

Katherine presented the artwork to Mrs. Dalyce Wehlage and spent time speaking with Grade 3 art students about her creative process. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about her inspiration, and see how artistic interests can continue to grow beyond the classroom.

Katherine continues to paint in her spare time to find balance and express herself. Her visit gave students a special opportunity to connect with a former Stirling student and see how school experiences can help nurture lifelong interests and talents.

Westwind School Division extends its appreciation to Katherine for her thoughtful gift and for taking the time to encourage young artists at Stirling School.
