St. Clair Catholic District School Board Trustees received an update on the latest developments regarding construction of the eagerly anticipated Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School in Sarnia and St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School in Chatham. During last night's Board meeting, attendees were treated to the unveiling of the newest installment of the Board's Action News Updates, featuring talented student reporters.

"The opening of two state-of-the-art schools signifies a monumental leap forward for our educational community," says John Van Heck, Chair of the Board. "As these projects near completion, it's a moment of immense pride for our Board."
Gregory A Hogan Catholic School opened to staff and students on March 18, 2024. In the following weeks, families and community leaders, including Bob Bailey, MPP for Sarnia- Lambton, and Mike Bradley, Mayor of Sarnia, toured the new school grounds and facilities. The ongoing construction at St. Teresa of Calcutta in Chatham is on track to be completed later this spring, after which the Board will prepare the school to welcome staff and students in September 2024.
"The speed at which these projects are advancing is truly remarkable," says Scott Johnson, Director of Education. "Each visit to the school sites reveals tangible evidence of our commitment to providing exceptional learning environments for our students."
The former Gregory A. Hogan on Hogan Drive is currently undergoing renovations. The refurbished and upgraded school will reopen as the new Sacred Heart Catholic School in September 2025.
