LKDSB Receives Additional Funding to Expand Errol Village

May 8, 2024

The Ontario Ministry of Education has granted the Lambton Kent District School Board a total of $6,144,624 to complete an expansion at Errol Village Public School in Camlachie.

"We are very grateful to the Ministry for the additional funding which will allow this important project to move forward" said Randy Cambell, LKDSB Board Chair.

The expansion, which will address increasing student enrolment at the school, will include two classrooms with accommodations for 46 students, as well as a 3-room child care addition providing 49 licensed daycare spaces.

"We are determined to build schools and expansions faster, part of our commitment to modernize schools in fast growing communities," said Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education. "We are proud to deliver a new, state-of-the-art expansion at Errol Village Public School for Camlachie families, along with increasing funding, staffing and a back-to-basics focus on reading, writing and math skills to help ensure students graduate with confidence that they can succeed in good-paying careers."

"The Ontario government continues to make historic investments across the province to create new student and child care spaces," said Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey. "The investment in Erroll Village School is great news for the Sarnia-Lambton community and will provide choice and flexibility for growing families in Camlachie."

The projected start date for the project is July 2nd, with an aim of completion by March 3rd to allow for move in to take place during the March Break.
