The Government of Nunavut (GN) is launching the Tuglirijavut Student Employment Program, a year-round employment initiative that expands access to government employment opportunities for Nunavut students throughout the year.
Tuglirijavut Program, which translates to "our next ones", provides Nunavut students with valuable work experience, mentorship and opportunities to explore potential career pathways within the public service.
"Investing in our youth is critical to shaping the future leaders of our community," said David Akeeagok, Minister of Human Resources. "The Tuglirijavut Program is designed to give students the experience and resources they need to succeed, while also evaluating their career options and educational paths."
The program aims to maximize student engagement in meaningful work placements, ultimately contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in Nunavut. Eligible students will receive competitive wages based on their level of experience, a Nunavut Northern Allowance, and access to training and development opportunities.
Eligible recent graduates and students attending high-school or post-secondary programs can apply at any time, with no application deadline. Students seeking summer employment are encouraged to apply as soon as possible due to the volume of applicants in the summer period.
