The Annual Report provides a snapshot of how the Board's strategic priorities are being implemented in Rainbow Schools. Guided by its vision, mission and values, the Board is making great strides in mental health and well-being, literacy and numeracy, student success and achievement, environmental education and sustainability, truth and reconciliation, and equity and inclusive education.
"Students continued to be the focus of decision-making as we worked with passion and with purpose to direct resources into the classroom where they have the greatest impact," said Board Chair David Farrow. "From senior leaders, to school administrators, to teachers, to support staff, employees at all levels of the organization contributed their energy and enthusiasm towards student achievement and well-being."
He added: "I would like to thank parents/guardians and the broader public for supporting learning at school, at home and in the community. When the home and the school work together towards a common goal, students thrive. When the community provides opportunities for students to engage in hands-on learning, it enhances their overall education and opens doors."
"This Annual Report celebrates human connection and excellence in education as staff in all schools engage with students to deliver dynamic learning opportunities in the classroom and in the community," said Director of Education Bruce Bourget. "It all begins at the start of the school year when we channel our energy into creating warm and welcoming environments for students to gain a strong sense of belonging at school. When students feel safe, they are ready to learn, open to new opportunities, and eager to get involved."
He added: "We are grateful for the incredible and intentional work being done in our schools by our dedicated administrators and talented staff. Teachers continue to use high-yield strategies to deliver the curriculum. Their collective efforts ensure that our students thrive in all aspects of their lives - academically, socially, emotionally and physically."
School Boards are required to produce an Annual Report in accordance with The Education Act. The Annual Report provides highlights of Rainbow District School Board's key activities during the 2024-2025 school year. It also offers an overview of the 2025-2026 budget.
