BROCK UNIVERSITY
Strengthening partnerships in Pakistan

February 26, 2026

A delegation of Brock representatives recently reaffirmed the University's commitment to academic collaboration, student mobility and long-term partnerships in Pakistan.

Usman Raja, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Programs with the Goodman School of Business, and Anna Guo, Director of International Student Recruitment, met with prospective students and recruitment partners in Lahore and Islamabad during the trip, which took place from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4.

The delegation also engaged with leading secondary schools in the country, including Aitchison College, Cadet College Hasan Abdal and SuperNova School, as well as post-secondary institutions such as Lahore University of Management Sciences and the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences.

Through in-person engagement with university leaders, schools and prospective students, the delegation explored opportunities for academic partnerships, research collaboration and the development of recruitment pathways.

Dr. Raja said that sustainable international partnerships often begin with strong academic-to-academic dialogue.

"Direct engagement with institutions gives us valuable insight into their academic and research priorities and how Brock's expertise can meaningfully align," he said. "When partnerships are grounded in academic trust and long-term collaboration, research collaboration, faculty exchange and student recruitment become more strategic, sustainable and mutually beneficial."

The visit also celebrated the powerful impact of Brock's Pakistani students and alumni in shaping the University's global footprint. Students and alumni, such as former International Student Ambassador and Accounting graduate Basit Ur Rehman (BAcc '23), provided valuable insight for the trip.

Guo said the visit reflects Brock's broader goal of helping students thrive in an interconnected world by deepening its global relationships and helps to position the University for  sustained, long-term collaboration in the region.

"Being present on the ground with faculty members matters," said Guo. "Meeting directly with students, educators, and partners allows us to listen, share Brock's story in a more meaningful and holistic way, and reaffirms our long-term commitment to Pakistan as a valued partner region."
