The Ontario government is continuing to support the province's vibrant Francophone communities by investing $3 million through the 2026-27 Francophone Community Grants Program (FCGP). The funding will support 75 projects that protect the social, cultural and economic vitality of Francophone communities across Ontario by expanding services, improving employee training, increasing community outreach and creating new employment opportunities.
"Our government is investing in the people, businesses and organizations that are driving economic growth and strengthening Francophone communities across Ontario," said Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Francophone Affairs. "Through this investment, we are helping community organizations expand their reach, create new opportunities and deliver meaningful benefits for the communities they serve."
Each year, FCGP projects are selected to improve access to French-language services across the province, support the recruitment and training of bilingual staff and advance cultural and economic initiatives that strengthen Francophone communities.
Some of this year's recipients include:
- Équipe Santé Familiale Nord-Aski Family Health Team, which will receive $50,000 to strengthen mental health awareness and supports for Francophone communities in Hearst, Mattice-Val Côté and Constance Lake through a collaborative community-based approach.
- VALORIS for Children and Adults of Prescott-Russell, which will receive $42,882 to develop and deliver practical training workshops for staff supporting adults with intellectual disabilities, strengthening person-centred practices and promoting social inclusion and community participation.
- Employment Services Centre of Prescott-Russell, which will receive $50,000 to help job seekers who are disconnected from the labour market strengthen their digital skills and improve their employability through introductory artificial intelligence workshops, while helping address regional labour shortages.
- Carrefour Communautaire Francophone de London, which will receive $49,326 to create a digital platform featuring Francophone cultural content, including podcasts, cultural segments and profiles of engaged Francophones, and to host a recognition event during Francophonie Week for Francophone youth, newcomers and artists in the London region.
The Francophone Community Grants Program is part of the government's plan to protect Francophone communities across the province by strengthening their economic, social, and cultural vitality.
