Vanier College is pleased to announce that the Vanier Language School is now a certified DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) testing centre. To acquire this certification, an educational institution must meet certain requirements set out by France Education International (FEI), a national public institution affiliated with France's Ministry of Education which manages international projects.
Hence, the Vanier Language School has undergone a vetting process involving formal application to the FEI, infrastructure review, and DELF teacher training in order to be able to deliver the DELF exam.
What exam will be offered?
The Vanier Language School will offer the DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française), an internationally recognized examination attesting to a learner's proficiency level in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French (four competencies), with a focus on language usage in everyday situations. The diploma is awarded by the French Ministry of National Education and is valid for life.
The DELF is aligned with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). For now, Vanier will only be offering the exam at the B2 level, which is the highest DELF level and is the equivalent of advanced intermediate.
DELF results are recognized by governments, international companies, and educational institutions worldwide. They can support CEGEP or university admission (depending on the institution), career prospects, or in any context where proof of French language proficiency is an asset.

The first DELF B2 exam will be held at Vanier on September 25th. The registration deadline is September 15th, and the cost of the exam is $280. Anyone who wishes to take the exam may do so!
