The Loran Scholars Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2021 Loran Award, and we need the help of educators across Canada to identify students who demonstrate strength of character, dedication to serving others in the community, and the promise of leadership potential.
The individuals we seek possess integrity, courage, compassion, determination, as well as a high level of personal autonomy and self-motivation.
The Loran Award is the largest and most comprehensive merit-based award for young Canadians, valued at up to $100,000 over four years of undergraduate study. It includes study at one of our 25 partner universities, a living stipend, access to funding for tri-sectoral summer experiences in Canada and abroad, mentorship, and participation in a community of supporters and alumni working towards a better country and world.
Here's how educators can support students:
- Register now for one of our educator webinars to learn how to best identify students who fit the Loran Scholar profile.
If you are in one of the territories, please register for this webinar.
- Communicate this opportunity widely (please take advantage of this bilingual communications toolkit containing promotional materials that you can share directly via your school's website, social media channels, newsletters, etc.).
- Contact students who demonstrate the Loran values and urge them to apply for the award, directing them to loranscholar.ca/becoming-a-scholar.
- Invite those students to register for one of our webinars specifically for interested applicants where they can learn more about the Loran Award and hear from Loran alumni.
If the student resides in one of the territories, please have them register for this webinar.
