It's Campus Sustainability Month and McMaster's 2024-25 Sustainability Report will be shared throughout October through the Office of Sustainability's Instagram account.
Each day, @SustainableMac will highlight a story or event that reflects one of the university's four strategic sustainability drivers, making it easier for the campus community to engage with sustainability work underway across campus.
The report ties McMaster's sustainability efforts to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year, the university ranked 14th out of 2,526 institutions worldwide in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings which measure universities' contributions to advancing the SDGs to improve life and protect the planet.
"McMaster really is a living laboratory for sustainability," says Saher Fazilat, vice-president of Operations and Finance.
"Sharing this report in a new, more engaging format is a great opportunity for our community to see the incredible sustainability work from the past year and to get involved during Sustainability Month."
Throughout October, the Office of Sustainability will be hosting on-campus events tied to each strategic driver. The McMaster community can register for events here.
