On November 7, the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) celebrated the official inauguration of its Saint-Jean-Baptiste campus, a remarkable achievement for francophone education in Ottawa's North Central sector. Enthusiastically welcomed by the community, the new school represents the CECCE's steadfast commitment to meet the growing needs of francophone families in the area.
Since the start of the 2024-2025 school year, the campus has welcomed its first cohort of grade 7 and 8 students, and will continue to grow with the addition of a grade level each year, with the opening of a grade 9 class as early as September 2024.
The event brought together Trustee Jolène Savoie-Day, Trustees Daniel Boudria, Denis Forget and Claude Lalonde, as well as community members, partners, families and students. All were treated to inspiring speeches and a guided tour organized by the students, offering a unique insight into this new learning environment.
