Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) is ready to showcase its industry-relevant programming, student services and innovative facilities at the post-secondary institution's Spring 2026 Open House on Saturday, March 28 from 9 am to 2 pm.
This marquee event held at the Polytechnic's main campus invites attendees to discover how Alberta's productivity is powered by people and purpose at RDP. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about RDP's wide range of credit and non-credit programs, as well as the student services that support learners throughout their academic journey. From career planning to scholarships, attendees will gain valuable insight into the comprehensive supports available at every stage.
"We are excited to welcome high school learners, mature students and families to explore the enhanced education, training and applied research opportunities at Red Deer Polytechnic during our Spring 2026 Open House," says Lindsay Engel, Vice President of Academic and Student Experience. "At RDP, we align our programming with the needs of industry, empowering graduates to become leaders in their careers and communities."
Throughout the day, prospective students can interact with RDP's faculty and staff to further learn about the Polytechnic's more than 80 programs, including degrees, diplomas, certificates, apprenticeships, and post-diploma and post-baccalaureate certificates. Learners can also pursue professional development opportunities through Continuing Education and Corporate Training, providing convenient options for career advancement or career transition.
Guests can attend demonstrations, participate in skilled trades activities and tour Red Deer Polytechnic's main campus, including classrooms and Residences. There will also be sessions about funding, job placement services and wellness resources. A complimentary lunch will be provided for attendees in the FarSide Bar & Grill, beginning at 11:30 am (while supplies last).
RDP continues to expand its applied research capacity across four priority areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Health Care and Health Technology, Energy Innovation and Social Innovation. Through this growing research ecosystem, students, faculty and industry partners collaborate to develop practical, forward-thinking solutions that address challenges facing Alberta and beyond.
Last year, 149 companies were involved in applied research projects at the Polytechnic. The expansion of the on-campus Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing-Technology Access Centre (CIM-TAC) will further increase advanced manufacturing and applied research opportunities for students, faculty, staff and industry partners.
During Spring 2026 Open House, prospective students will have the opportunity to submit a complimentary application to enrol in Red Deer Polytechnic's credit programs. Application support will be available in RDP's Library from 9 am to 2 pm. Red Deer Polytechnic is currently accepting applications for Spring 2026, Summer 2026, Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 Terms.
