On Friday, September 4th, Parkland School Division marked a major milestone as we opened our doors to the very first cohort of international students. Though they arrived at the Edmonton International Airport tired, they brought with them unique perspectives, fresh ideas, and rich traditions from their home country straight into our local classrooms.

We look forward to learning about their cultures, traditions and language during their stay with us. Lots of amazing work is being done by staff to ensure their learning experience at PSD will be excellent.
Local high school students have also been preparing to act as Global Guides. The Global Guides program allows local students to learn about intercultural relations and communication and build leadership skills while also potentially building lifelong friendships.
This program would not be a success without our amazing community. To give our international students a safe and authentic experience, we are looking to recruit more warm and caring local families to serve as homestay hosts. Hosting is an incredibly rewarding experience that brings the world directly to your dinner table.
