Municipal Council Members, dignitaries, school staff, and school council fundraising volunteers gathered last week to officially open the new playground facility at Smithfield Public School.
The Municipality was engaged through a delegation made by the Playground Project Council Members in early 2023, and received Council's support. Together with the efforts of dedicated staff, parents, local partners, and supporters, this playground now offers a vibrant and exciting space where students and young Brightonians can play, grow, and thrive.
This new modern facility includes...
- a buddy bench, where a child can go when they want someone to talk to and,
- two play structures for children to explore and enjoy.
The playground facility is also open to the public outside of school hours, offering a space for the whole community to enjoy.
