York University's Strategic Procurement Services has introduced a new searchable Vendor of Record (VOR) database to improve access to preferred vendor contracts and enhance procurement efficiency across the University.
The new tool provides users with a curated list of York's approved vendors and existing pan-University contracts to support the University community in making faster, easier and more informed purchasing decisions.
The database allows users to search by vendor name, goods or services description, or contract number, while offering practical guidance on how to make purchases. The new VOR's benefits include faster procurement turnaround, easier ordering, increased cost savings and better overall value for the University through bulk purchasing and performance-informed vendor selection.
The launch aligns with York's sector-leading social procurement strategy, which prioritizes ethical, sustainable and inclusive purchasing practices that create community benefits alongside financial value.
The new VOR database requires Passport York authentication and can be accessed on the Strategic Procurement Services website.
