Section 57 of The Public Schools Act (PSA) outlines the requirements for trustee representation within a school division. Following a review of our existing ward structure and considering recent population shifts, along with the introduction of Bill 16 extending voting rights to First Nations residents it has been determined that our current ward configuration no longer complies with these legislative requirements.
Listed below are several potential ward structure scenarios that would bring the Division into alignment with the PSA. These options were presented to the public during our Public Budget Consultation on March 2, 2026 and are currently being considered by the MVSD Board of Trustees for implementation in the upcoming 2026 General Election of School Board Trustees. Please note both the proposed boundary adjustments and the number of trustees that would be elected in each ward.
