The Humber Hawks closed out 2024 with several national and provincial championships to celebrate.
Humber Polytechnic's men's soccer team made history in November after winning the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national championship for the tenth time. The championship game, which capped a 13-0-1 season, saw the Hawks defeat the Algonquin Wolves 1-0 on a goal by Championship MVP Franz Mella in what was a rematch of the 2024 Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) provincial championship game.
With the win, 24 per cent of all CCAA national championships have been won by Humber's men's soccer team. It was also the seventh time in program history they finished the season undefeated.
The men's and women's golf teams had a tremendous season as both finished on the national podium. The women's team won the provincial championship for the fifth straight year (and 14th time in program history) in October and went on to win silver at the CCAA nationals.
The men's team captured the 2024 OCAA silver medal before earning a third-place finish at the CCAAs.
Also, Humber's softball team won the 2024 OCAA silver medal after reaching the gold medal game for the first time since 2019.
The men's rugby team finished the 2024 season undefeated for the fourth time in the program's history and won the OCAA gold medal after defeating Conestoga 33-14 at home. It was Humber's first OCAA gold medal in rugby since 2014.
