It has been a good 10 days for Simona Boettger.
The Grade 12 student committed to play scholarship volleyball at the University of Waterloo about a week and a half ago and Thursday afternoon she led the Blessed Trinity Thunder to a 3-1 (26-28, 25-19, 27-25 and 25-13) victory over the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association senior girls AAA volleyball final.
"I have played senior volleyball for four years and we have never made it to SOSSA (Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association) so it's a full circle moment that we made it in my last year," the 17-year-old said. "It is really nice and nice to have all my friends on the team as well."
