NAIT is making history this month as it hosts the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Volleyball Championship for the first time ever, welcoming the country's top collegiate teams to campus. Eight teams from across Canada will travel to Edmonton to compete in the event, which runs on campus March 11-14, 2026.
"Hosting a national championship at NAIT is a significant achievement for our institution and our volleyball program," said Jordan Richey, Director, Athletics and Recreation. "Bringing the country's best to our campus is a powerful recognition that NAIT and Edmonton are leading destinations for major national sporting events."
"Getting the chance to compete for a national championship on our home court means so much to us," said Mason Gorski, Setter, NAIT Ooks Men's Volleyball Team. "We've worked hard all season, and having the support of our fans, families and the NAIT community behind us makes this opportunity even more special."
NAIT came out on top with the successful bid to play host for the national event. It comes after a breakout season for the NAIT Ooks Men's Volleyball Team, who captured both the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Championship and their first-ever CCAA national title in 2023-24.
