Ready to take your child's athletic and academic journey to the next level? The ultimate game-changer has arrived in Bonnyville.
Lakeland Catholic School Division is proud to introduce the St. Sebastian Sports Program, designed to help students in Grades 5 through 9 grow their athletic skills while developing confidence, discipline, and leadership within a faith-centred learning environment.
Launching at École Dr. Bernard Brosseau School and École Notre Dame High School, the program will offer dedicated training opportunities in volleyball, base- ball and softball, soccer, golf, and hockey, helping students build skills, teamwork, and perseverance while continuing to succeed academically.
Named after St. Sebastian, the patron saint of athletes, the program reflects Lakeland Catholic's commitment to form- ing the whole student supporting physical development, faith formation, leadership, and resilience alongside aca- demic success.
"Our goal is to create opportunities where students can pursue their passions while building the character and leader- ship that sport naturally develops," said Superintendent Sheldon Germain . "The St. Sebastian program will help stu- dents grow not only as athletes, but as confident young leaders giving families access to high-level training opportu- nities right here in our community."
Lakeland Catholic will also be announcing community partnerships, coaching leadership, and program supporters in the coming months as the initiative gets closer to fall 2026.
With the launch of the St. Sebastian Sports Program, Lakeland Catholic is creating new opportunities for students in our region to grow, compete, and develop through sport.
