NSCC Foundation and Alumni Relations announces new Executive Director

November 9, 2023

Nova Scotia Community College's Foundation and Alumni Relations has announced its new Executive Director. Denise Green joins the College as an experienced fundraiser, team leader and NSCC graduate. She will begin her new role on January 2, 2024.

Born and raised in Lunenburg, Denise has more than 20 years of social sector experience. She is currently serving as Executive Director, Advancement, Mount St. Vincent University (MSVU) - a position she's held for five years. Prior to her work with MSVU, Denise served for over a decade with United Way Halifax where she held a range of roles centred around fundraising and workplace campaigns. She was also the owner and operator of the Historic Grounds Coffee House for 10 years and was recognized with the Businessperson of the Year Award for the Town of Lunenburg.

"As a proud NSCC alum, I am not only excited but profoundly grateful for this opportunity to serve a community that has played a pivotal role in shaping my own journey," says Denise. "Aligning with the values of NSCC Foundation and Alumni Relations and the College, I am committed to fostering transformation and empowering and igniting the potential for students, alumni and communities to thrive. As I embark on this new chapter, I look forward to working hand in hand with NSCC's incredible team, along with donors, partners, alumni and, most importantly, students to co-create innovative, lasting impacts that will strengthen the College's mission of providing equitable and accessible education to all."

NSCC President Don Bureaux says, "The work of both NSCC Foundation and Alumni Relations is critical to our mission as a College. I am so pleased to welcome Denise and the wealth of experience she will bring to the leadership role from her years of experience in the sector and the connection she brings to this work as an NSCC alum."
