High school students with artistic flair will be at Cambrian College next week to take part in the first-ever Cambrian Creative Challenge.
The all-day event is being held Tuesday, November 21, and is hosted by Cambrian's School of Creative Industries.
In the Cambrian Creative Challenge, students are given a theme which they must turn into a project in one of five categories: Art and Design, Animation, Game Design, Graphic Design, and Media Communications.
This inaugural theme for the Cambrian Creative Challenge is "The Elements." They will receive guidance from Cambrian faculty and students.
Prizes will be awarded.
"We're really looking forward to what the students come up with, whether it is a painting, printed design, animated character concept or even a TikTok video," says Pamela Teed, Chair of Cambrian's School of Creative Industries. "We really want them to give their imaginations free reign. We also want to encourage them to pursue their artistic gifts because there are fulfilling, lucrative careers available in the creative industries."
Cambrian College offers a variety of programs in its School of Creative Industries, including Animation, Art and Design Fundamentals, Design and Visual Arts, Game Design, Graphic Design, Media Communications, and Public Relations.
