Congratulations to the Vanier College Cheetahs Division 1 Men's Basketball Team that won the Provincial Championships on March 3, 2024, after triumphant semi-finals held March 1 to 3 at Champlain College.

On Friday afternoon (March 1), the team faced Cegep de l'Outaouais in Quarter-Finals and secured the victory with a final score of 79-57. Senior Liam Ngos was on point with 16 points, 7 rebounds and two assists.
The following day (March 2), the Cheetahs matched up in the semi-finals versus Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. Vanier was able to close out the team by shooting the basketball at a high percentage from the field in the 2nd half (60%). The final score was 94-74 with Rookie Ludovic Tournier netting in 23 points, three rebounds and three steals.
Finally, on Sunday evening (March 3), last year's finalists confronted each other once again - Vanier vs. Dawson, a classic rivalry. The Cheetahs started off strong and never took their foot off the pedal, shooting 51% from the field in the first half. Senior Raphael Dumont had a monster game pouring in 29 points, three rebounds and three steals. Vanier continued their strong start into the second half of the game and won 83-62 bringing home the Provincial Gold Medal over Dawson Blues. Congratulations to the entire team and to the coaching staff: Head Coach Feras Saaida, Assistant Coaches Mike Dosado, Kazadi Nyanguila, and Sheldon Lewis.
The team will next play in the CCAA National Championships which will be held from March 13-16 at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick - the Cheetahs will face off Mount Allison Mounties (Wednesday March 13 - 7 PM Eastern Time).
