In an impressive showcase of talent and hard work, the College of New Caledonia (CNC) students have secured second place in Business Simulation at the 2024 Western Canadian Business Competition. CNC's proud representatives were Jaden West, Kyla Newman, Jari Saario, and Curtney Benitez, who excelled in the Simulation Score category, marking an achievement against six other colleges at the event hosted by Douglas College in Vancouver.
The Journey to Success
The journey to the podium was not an easy one. The CNC team, mentored by coaches Laura and Muhammad, navigated balancing academic responsibilities, and demands of the competition. "Our journey was tough but rewarding, I was able to apply my knowledge that I learn in school", shared Jaden West. She credits the competition's success to the supportive CNC community, "They helped us through everything. The teachers' lessons were crucial in applying real-life business strategies."
Curtney shared, "The competition was a roller coaster, requiring us to craft a business plan and presentation. CNC supported us financially and morally." She sees this as a stepping stone to more opportunities and connections.
