Champlain Saint-Lambert Pure and Applied Science student Maxence Gagné took home the College Writers Award given by the Quebec Writers' Federation during the 2024 QWF Literary Awards Gala on Tuesday, November 12.
The award is given to a Cegep student in recognition of outstanding literary achievement, be it in the form of a poem, short story, or short piece of non-fiction.
Gagné's short story "Echoes of Leïla" was one of three pieces of student writing shortlisted for the award, alongside a student from Dawson and another from Heritage.
The winner receives a cash prize of $1,000 and publication in carte blanche, the QWF's literary magazine.
