On Friday, May 23, 2025, the Association pour la recherche au collégial (ARC) will be holding a colloquium at Université du Québec à Montréal and is inviting college, undergraduate, graduate and PhD students to submit presentation proposals, in either French or English, describing their research in social sciences and humanities, arts and literature, no later than Friday, March 21, 2025.
This marks the fourth edition of a colloquium organized by ARC in partnership with the Centre de transfert pour la réussite éducative du Québec, and the second time UQAM is hosting it. The main objective of the colloquium is to provide students in the fields of social sciences and humanities, arts and literature, with the opportunity to participate in an event dedicated to scientific communication and knowledge transfer. College students from all college-level programs, both pre-university and technical, as well as undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing research are invited to submit a poster presentation, in French or in English. Due to their strong collaboration with UQAM's Faculty of Social Sciences, ARC and CTREQ were delighted to accept the latter's request to invite undergraduate research-driven students to submit, for the first time, a presentation proposal. Graduate and PhD students are invited to give an oral presentation, in French or in English. And lastly, students who are part of an inter-level team are invited to present either a poster or an oral presentation, in French or in English.
In its call for proposals, ARC provides information and useful references on how to write excellent proposals. This year, ARC is also offering students a guide on writing a presentation proposal. The colloquium and related project [Experience makes the difference] are made possible thanks to a grant from the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l'Énergie. In addition, the major contribution from UQAM's Faculty of Social Sciences will help ensure the event elevates recognition of the fields of social sciences and humanities, arts and literature. For ARC President Renaud Bellemare, "this colloquium, which continues to gain interest each year, serves as both a clear testament to ARC's dedication to nurturing the next generation of researchers and an opportunity for collaboration one of the core values of our strategic plan."
On May 23, researchers selected to present their work as part of the Colloque interordre de la recherche étudiante en sciences sociales et humaines, en arts et en lettres will be participating in a distinctive human experience. Why not join them? Simply submit a proposal for an oral presentation or a poster, in French or in English!
