On May 5th and May 6th, students and staff gathered at the St. Lawrence auditorium for the annual Sociocultural and Sports Banquets, bringing together students and staff to celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of student leaders throughout the academic year.
On May 5th, around 110 attended the Sociocultural Banquet. Extracurricular activities are a cornerstone of St Lawrence's student experience with nearly a quarter of students actively participate in at least one of the college's nearly 20 clubs and student groups. During the evening, each club leader or coach took to the stage to recognize three outstanding members: the Most Involved Student, the Most Involved First-Year Student, and a student distinguished for their exemplary Use of English during club activities.
This event also served as an occasion to recognize the achievements of students that have set themselves apart through their involvement, impact and initiative. This was an opportunity to highlight the local (college-wide) winners of Forces Avenir.
The last and biggest award of the night was the Personality of the Year award. This award recognized a student that made a significant difference in the school community. Paloma Calleja was the recipient of this year's award. The nominees included fellow student leaders Merrick Marshall and Alexandrine Culat.
