The City of Langford is pleased to announce that the new post-secondary campus in downtown Langford will be named after John Horgan, the former Premier of British Columbia, and MLA for Langford-Juan de Fuca.
Naming the new post-secondary campus in John's honour acknowledges John's significant contributions to this project and honours his enduring legacy within the community. The campus is a first-of-its-kind partnership between Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and the Sooke School District.
Establishing a West Shore campus ensures local youth can pursue post-secondary education within their community, eliminating unnecessary barriers to participation, opportunity, and growth.
The campus is set to officially open this September, with enrollment now open for all institutions.
