Members of the Humber Polytechnic community with a passion for film can experience the works of student filmmakers and recent graduates as part of the inaugural Current Cut Film Festival.
It's a two-day celebration of emerging filmmakers that's presented in collaboration with NBCUniversal and provides a platform for them to showcase their creative storytelling and cinematography. Organizers say these filmmakers defy expectations, challenge the norm, and venture into the uncharted creative waters of film.
The red carpet and reception takes place on June 12 from 4-7 p.m. in the G Commons at Lakeshore Campus. The screenings and awards happen on June 13 from 4-8 p.m. in the Humber Cultural Hub Recital Hall.
Awards will be presented in a variety of categories including:
- Best Alumnus Film
- Best Director
- Audience Choice Award
- Best Innovation in a Story
- Best Documentary
Those interested in attending the free festival are asked to register at the Current Cut Film Festival Eventbrite webpage.
