VCC is proud to share that Board of Governors member, Dr. Paul Yeung, is the recipient of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) Lorne Flavelle Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service.
This year's CCPA Awards ceremony was held in Calgary, Alberta. The event signifies a momentous milestone, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the esteemed association and serving as a distinguished recognition of excellence within the discipline. The gathering was graced by numerous prominent figures including Dr. John Paterson, Dr. Bill Borgen, Dr. Glenn Sheppard, Dr. David Paterson, Maria De Cicco, and many more in the fields of counselling and psychotherapy and honoured the exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession.
Among the various prestigious accolades bestowed during the evening, the Lorne Flavelle Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, emerged as a notable testament to the dedication and commitment of individuals who work diligently for the advancement of the field. As the recipient of this year's award, Dr. Yeung has exhibited unwavering dedication to the field of counselling and psychotherapy as well as the push for counselling regulation in B.C. In addition, he remains actively involved in academia, government, and the non-profit sectors.
The impact of Dr. Yeung's contributions extends beyond his extensive knowledge and expertise; his remarkable warmth and willingness to lead by example have positively influenced countless students, clients, and colleagues. He graciously reminds us about the significance of selflessness for the benefit of others.
