College of the North Atlantic (CNA) students brought home seven medals, including five gold, from the 2025 Skills Canada National Competition.
The competition featured more than 500 students and apprentices from across the country competing in over 40 skilled trade and technology areas. CNA's students once again demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity and professionalism on the national stage.

CNA President and CEO Elizabeth Winney said the results reflect the quality of education and training at CNA campuses throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as the determination of its students and instructors.
"Our students continue to prove that world-class talent is being developed right here in Newfoundland and Labrador," Winney said. "These medals reflect not only the technical excellence of our learners, but also their drive, creativity and resilience. I am incredibly proud of our students, instructors and mentors who have worked tirelessly to prepare for this competition. Their success is a testament to the power of hands-on learning and the transformative impact of skilled trades and technology education."
Cloud computing champion Logan Bowers, who earned a gold medal in a highly competitive digital skills category and will represent the entire country at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, credited his instructors and training at CNA for helping him reach the national podium.
"My favourite part of competing at nationals was the energy," Bowers explained, noting he's looking forward to diving into more of what cloud computing can accomplish in preparation for representing Canada. "Every day I went into the competition, I could feel the excitement and buzz in the air. It was truly electric and made the whole thing such a great experience."
