
John Abbott College was alive with energy, nostalgia, and school spirit this past weekend as the community came together to celebrate Homecoming 2025. From curtain calls to kickoff and home runs, the campus was buzzing with excitement and Islanders pride.
The festivities kicked off Friday with a lively theatre presentation that drew a crowd of students, staff, and alumni. Attendees were treated to a slew of great performances and even greater vibes, setting the tone for a weekend full of celebration.
Under sunny skies, the Islanders football team reignited their historic rivalry with CEGEP de Trois-Rivières in a spirited matchup at Memorial Field that brought generations together. Alumni from the 1975 Abbott championship team were on hand alongside many more from 1971 to 2025 reconnecting over BBQ, music, and memories of their glory days. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of the football program, with college leadership, staff, families, and fans all joining in to celebrate the enduring spirit of the Islanders.
The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with a baseball game that brought the community together for some friendly competition and fun in the sun. Cheers echoed across the diamond as players and fans alike soaked in the final moments of a weekend to remember.
