Vancouver Community College (VCC) Alumni Relations held a Red Seal Recognition event in September, recognizing graduates from across the trades education programs offered at VCC. Guests and graduates celebrated Red Seal recipients from culinary, baking, hairstyling, auto body and collision, automotive service, and heavy mechanical trades.
Today, we are here to celebrate something truly special. The hard work, dedication, and success of our VCC alumni in achieving their Red Seal designation," said VCC President & CEO Ajay Patel. "Earning your Red Seal is more than just a credential. It is a national symbol of excellence; a mark of the training, skills, and knowledge you have acquired and worked to master. We are thrilled that VCC was a part of your journey."
Esteemed guests included the Honourable Jessie Sunner, Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, highlighting the importance of skilled trades in B.C.'s workforce. Representatives from SkilledTradesBC and industry partners also shared words of pride and encouragement with graduates, reinforcing the value of trades certification and lifelong learning.
"You are not just shaping your own futures you are building the future of this province," Minister Sunner said. "You can proudly say you've mastered your trade. You now hold a credential that opens doors to higher wages, career growth, and the freedom to work anywhere across our beautiful province and country."
