Confederation College is proud to be advancing clean energy innovation in Northwestern Ontario.

Through $3.2 million in funding from the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO)'s Grid Innovation Fund, we are working with Synergy North, Blackstone Energy Services Inc., and Powerconsumer Inc.. to install and pilot a large-scale electric heat pump and thermal storage system on our Thunder Bay campus.
This project will reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and lower long-term operating costs while giving our students hands-on experience with sustainable technologies that are shaping the future of the energy sector.
We are grateful to our partners for their collaboration and shared vision in helping Confederation College continue building a greener, more sustainable, and financially resilient campus.
